How can SPRING WATER be bad for you?
August 20th, 2009
Just ask the fish and ecosystem. First of all, I am not slamming Deer Park water but want to know the answer to my question if someone else can test the water. [I AM NOT AN EXPERT BTW] I tested Deer Park spring water and it was at the max (7.8) of my test kit…even if it was a 9, I would only register a 7.8. I have been drinking Deer Park “Natural Spring Water” I’ve tested two bottles and invite you all to test your bottles of water. Test kit in the pet area at Wal-Mart is only $5 but it only tests up to 7.8 so you may want to find a better kit at a pet store. Dangerous levels on PH get above the 8.5 level I believe. If anyone has a good test kit, can they take the time to run the tests on some bottles and post their results.
If you’re like me, I take magnesium which is good for the circulatory system. With acidic diets, magnesium can actually bring the PH up (less acidic). With High PH water, it may actually do much more harm by elevating the PH. The only way to tell is to test body PH. These are the interesting things we learn as we believe we’re being health conscious but actually are doing harm with another variable involved. OUR BODIES ARE 50-60 % WATER-BASED. Now this may not be so bad if you’re eating a lot of acidic foods but acidic foods in large quantities are never good. Soda is typically 3.0 along with the aspartame you take in. Best way to check you body is do a PH test on spit, urine and/or blood. Then evaluate your food intake because it is very critical as it affects your medicine’s effectiveness, overall health, susceptibility to viruses etc. High acid also creates more fat cells as it requires the fat cells to carry away the acid. Off balance PH can cause body odors, bad breath and other side effects as well…all signals from the body.
REALLY GOOD ARTICLE AND EXCERPT

One of the least understood concepts of nutrition is understanding what acid and alkaline balance is. The cells of the human body depend on a balanced acid-alkaline pH. If any fluids are abnormal, digestive enzymes are rendered inactive, food does not digest properly, and allergic reactions can result. Food bound microorganisms such as yeast, bacteria, parasites; molds, viruses, etc. are liberated in the body, which puts stress on the immune system.
TRemember that the pH number is an exponent number of 10; therefore, a small difference in pH translates to a BIG difference in the number of oxygen or OH-ions. In other words, blood with a pH value of 7.45 contains 64.9% more oxygen than blood with a pH value of 7.3. Cancer needs an acid / low oxygen environment to survive and flourish. Terminal Cancer patients are about 1000 times more acidic than they should be. This equates to dangerously low amounts of oxygen at the cellular level. Urine or saliva pH levels should be tested in A.M. prior to eating, drinking, or exercising

PH Test Results From Many Florida Springs (6.7 to 7.6)
http://www.nwfwmd.state.fl.us/rmd/springs/wakulla_stmarks/documents/data.htm
The spring pH values indicate that the water is well buffered. This is typical of water that has remained in the Floridan Aquifer for any length of time. The dissolution of limestone by acidic rain water raises the pH of the water and creates the characteristic karst topography of the Woodville Karst Plain. The median pH value for the Floridan Aquifer wells is 7.4 standard units (n=66, mean=7.3, stdev=0.2). The median value of the St. Marks/Wakulla River Springs is 7.2 standard units (n=51, mean=7.2, stdev=0.3).

Everything I’ve …
August 20th, 2009 at 10:36 amEverything I’ve read says that abnormally high PH 9 or higher is a health hazard. Water utilities monitor for this stuff as a health hazard. I do see your point about Nestle owning them. Nestle is big into gmo, other crappy water products as well as many other things.

The Deer Park …
The Deer Park spring water may be perfectly healthy at the high ph depending on what is causing the high alklinity. Their website lists the minerals found but does not mention the ph range.
My concern is the scam of the large corporations buying up water, packaging it (in dubious plastic containers), transporting it and selling it.
Deer Park is owned by Nestle:

that test kit …
August 20th, 2009 at 10:36 amthat test kit measures only up to 7.8. Therefore it can be 9.8 and it will show only 7.8. That is why I asked for someone with a better test kit to do the test. 8.5 is considered high by most water utilities as I’ve read. Now the question is why this Deer Park is high in alkalinity. My understanding is that pure spring water is suppose to be at 6.8 to 7.2. I could only imagine that minerals have caused this alkalinity to register high. Anyway, like I said, this is an interesting area

August 20th, 2009 at 10:36 amI’m a bit confused.
The text highlighted in this video at about 2:25 just above the Heading that reads “How do changes in pH affect the environment” clearly reads “Typically, organisms thrive in environments with the pH between 6 and 9..” and goes to say that above and below those demarcations diversity decreases and fewer organisms are able to survive.
Ummm. correct me if I’m mistaken, but didn’t we just see the Deer Park water source fall right into that region?

Good Lord! man.
Reminds me of a conversation I had in college w/a very close, at the time, friend.
Both of us were born in the ’60’s and had grown up w/the idea of Nuclear Holocaust being a possibility. My friend made the comment one day that “they” should just get it over with. iow just have the “inevitable” nuclear weapon showdown and let the chips fall where the will.
I just could not fathom the apathy of such a statement.

Why doesn’t the government just stop trying to slow kill us and get it over with already ( if that is truly what they want to do) I rather like being alive and not slowly poisoned to death. Yumm Yumm. Eat up your nano particles and such little John and Jane doe.

I just tested my …
I just tested my tap water in Groveport, Ohio which the government considers fluoride “deficient” because it does not have the industrial waste added to it.
It is ph 6.2. The water after I filter is coming out at ph 7.0. I eat a lot of fresh uncooked vegetables and fruits, and use a fair amount of raw apple cider vinegar which are alkalizing once consumed, but I would be leery about what is making the “spring” water that alkaline. Paul Turner
